Way delayed post, due to lack of interwebs: My entry for the Homestuck Music Contest.
It’s called Caketime (or Cakewalk, if you prefer. I couldn’t decide between the two.) I wrote it for Jane, in the vein of John’s “Showtime (Piano Refrain)”. I thought, their being each others’ grandparents/grandchildren, that it would be appropriate for them to both have piano themes.
Unfortunately, I don’t exactly have high-tech sound software/equipment, so the quality isn’t the best, which I’m sure hindered me greatly in the contest. Regardless, I didn’t make it onto the album. But I tried, and it got me to write music for the first time in almost 5 years, which is what I’m happiest about.
The very end has a tiny clip from the song “Homestuck”.
